How did you feel before you came in for your shoot?
Before I even THOUGHT about doing a photoshoot, I was always self-conscious of my weight, where my weight sits/hangs, and how I felt pretty uncomfortable in anything but semi-baggy clothes. I had heard of boudoir shoots but I really thought I would never do one--low physical self-esteem (even though I have the MOST amazing fiance--he loves me exactly as I am in every way), never felt like I'd look attractive or feel sexy in lingerie (let alone have other people see me and take my picture). I also thought the photos would be kinda "trashy" and push the limits of provocative to down right crude.
What made you choose Alli Murphy Photography?
I chose Alli Murphy because I saw a Groupon--I can't even lie about that. I figured it was worth a try, something fun to feel inspired to love myself and show my fiance a little something when we're apart (for business travels, etc.) Also, a very good friend of mine that I've known for years wanted to do the same thing for her fiance so we decided to do our shoots on the same day and alternated turns.
Tell us your favorite part of your experience...
I felt like a movie star! You start off getting your hair and makeup done (LOVED both experiences with both ladies!) and then you put on your first outfit. Everyone was so patient and wanted to make sure we felt comfortable and ready before we began shooting again--4 times! 4 outfit (and minor lip color changes) was really exciting!
How did you feel after your session, before you saw your photos?
As soon as I started, I felt SO comfortable! It was such a great "body positive" experience--I honestly never felt this beautiful and sexy and fun! I knew I nailed some of those pictures and I couldn't wait to see the results
How did you feel after you got to see your photos for the first time?
I was surprised by how nice they looked! Nothing was overly provocative--the pictures are very tasteful and I loved all the different lighting and sets.
What are your thoughts on your final photos/product?
I cannot wait for the final images/products that I bought for my fiance! Super excited to see the results :)
Was this a gift for someone? What was their reaction?
This is a gift for my fiance. He knew about it and I showed him a pic or two, just so he gets an idea of them.
Advice for future #boudiegirls?
I think this is such a positive experience for any and all women of all sizes and ages. It's never a bad time to feel great and look great too! I 100% recommend Alli and her staff of amazing ladies!
